National Accreditation Board for Hospitals & Healthcare Providers, abbreviated as NABH, is a constituent board of Quality Council of India, set up to establish and operate accreditation programme for healthcare organizations. Formed in 2005, it is the principal accreditation for hospitals in India.
NABH standards focus on patient safety and quality of the delivery of services by the hospitals in the changing healthcare environment. Without being prescriptive, the objective elements remain informative and guide the organisation in conducting its operations with focus on patient safety.
NABH accreditation clamps down on inflated bills and irregularities that fall under the category of CIS. Also, the mandate ensures fair billing process and quality treatment in hospitals across India.
